Christmas Cheers to Everyone!

I am writing this post at exactly 12:37 am of December 25th. My very first Christmas away from home.. I miss everyone from home! Anyway, Christmas cheers to everyone!

This is a tree I helped decorate for our church :) Great thing they had a tree, at least I get to be involved in one Christmasy activity.... I miss putting up a tree, haven't done that in a loooong time!
That one saturday this December, our church went to an elderly home in San Pedro to sing them some Christmas song and bring a bit of smile to this seemingly lonely season for them. I am such a cry baby, I can't take those kind of scenes, I was trying not to tear up when I see their faces. I just soooo hope that their loved ones visit them this holiday season. Is it too much to ask? I even hope they visit them regularly.. oh if you could just see their faces....
Anyway, this is a happy time! No more drama drama! So there we are, with our santa hats and lyric cheats, trying to sing our heart out even if I am one of the worst singer! haha...

This is one of my most used trench coat, and of course, t'was my moms. Grey is my current fave wardrobe color as of this moment. I am pretty sure it will change some time soon. I do have a fickle mind.
So after a day of decorating, practicing, and singing, we're all tired but truly happy for a day well worth it. (oh and a bit of christmasy chairs don't you think?)
Merry Christmas Everyone!! Please forget about dieting this holiday, too much food to ignore! Hahaha..... Enjoy and take care ;)

The Sand Place

I have a confession to make. I've been posting pictures from months before, so my pictures doesn't actually match the current coldness we're experiencing. I've been living in a country where the only weather are hot and hotter, so I thought I would appreciate this temp. But my oh my..

So anyways, back to my not so up-to-date post.....
We went to a sand "mountain" in Oxnard, to get some clean air, appreciate the view, and hike a little.

Kinda christmasy outfit, I know... I just love wearing contrasting colors ;)

oxnard, sand, red green outfit, sand place, sand boxI am not looking forward to hike....... So just about half-way to the top, I stopped and gave up. Yes, I need more exercise! My activity tolerance is just about non-existent.
So there I sit, and enjoyed the view.

But really, try it! That's the literal interpretation of... sit back and relax.

Gray Barbecue

Yey! I am back after just a few days, quite an improvement compared to a month-long silence! Fine fine fine, one post doesn't prove anything, I need to keep up! I'm not proud of myself, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Whatever that means! ;)

We went to a barbecue to a fam's place, it's quite a long drive and lots of gorgeous scenery along the way.

This got to be my current favorite blazer. It's just a simple grey one, but I love how it fits and how it kinda makes you look professional but still has a casual air to it. Though it doesn't help much with the cold.

grey blazer, gray blazer, gray coatCan you spot which accessories I used from my accessories post? I guess it's quite obvious. Of course I brought quite a few here in LA. Can't live without 'em. :)

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving!

OMG. It's been almost a month.

I didn't realize it's been almost a month since I last posted. Okay fine, it's just 2 days shy of being exactly a month of silence. nothing. NADAH. Time does really passes you by.

I'm just kinda busy with something that takes up most of my time, and frankly, I am not wearing anything much inspiring. My daily outfit consist of anything that would warm me up. I am not used to this cold weather!

Anyway, here is a memory back when the cold is still bearable with bare legs and short sleeves. (about a month ago, just about the same time I started ignoring this blog. sorry ;)....)
We had dinner and decided to walk home. (my brother and I)
Didn't realize that it's a 3-mile walk. Too late to complain, we just suck it up and enjoyed the ride, uhhmmm.. walk.
We passed by The Grove and took some pictures. That mall is great at night!

After an hour or so of walking down 3rd Street, we're almost home! T'was tiring but fun!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Enjoy the sales ;)
My thanksgiving resolution (if there's such a thing.. haha) is to try not to be a non-existing blogger.
Till then, enjoy and be thankful!

Playing dress-up for mom (a cruise time-out post)

I've been itching to write a non-cruise related post, something that actually had to do with clothes since, obviously, I wasn't dressing up that much on our trip.

So here it is, me, playing stylist for my mom's interview. She's so used to wearing paired suits, that I actually gave her a lecture about mixing and matching! Here's a Tahari jacket paired with an Anne Klien skirt. (of course I had to wear it first myself, just because I want to! haha)
My brother are actually teasing that I looked like a flight attendant. I don't care. I love the red.

Paired the outfit with this polka-dot Steve Madden shoes for a touch of playfulness :)

Here's my mom with the complete interview look (sans the make-up)... drum roll please!

Yup, you're seeing right. That lady is actually a mom to five. Three of which are legally adults!
How I wish I can be half as pretty as she is when I reach her age.

Can you guys guess her age??

P.S. She got the job! Though I'm quite sure the outfit has nothing to do with it, she can wear a sack and get a job regardless. She's just awesome like that.

Cartagena Colombia (Cruise: Day 5)

As I woke up on the 5th day on board, I was greeted by an identical ship on our window view. T'was like looking on a gigantic mirror, it's awesome! Our ships both have the same docking schedule on Cartagena, Colombia.
We were half-jokingly warned to be extra careful when going back on board, they swear they had passengers that boarded the wrong ship before! And I took it so seriously that I triple checked the name of the ship after our tour.. "Island Princes... Island Princess.. Island Princess...!"

The very first attraction right outside the port, gorgeous parrot!
Being the tourist that we are, we again got a tour guide and our very own bus. Our first stop was at an old historical church with a fantastic view of the city.
We can even see the 'twins' from where we were.
Though this is a zoom-in shot thus the not-so-clear image. The church's interior is quite surreal with it's old century appeal.
I can totally imagine a wedding scenario at their garden!
(Note to the boyfriend: don't worry, it's not a hint whatsoever! haha)
After, we went to another historical place, a fortress. (I'm sorry I can't remember the names! I should have taken notes. Bad blogger! Very bad blogger!)

Though I tried my best to put on accessories here and there, I failed at this one.
I actually took off my bangles and put them in my bag.
The sun is scorching hot and I'm afraid to have a tan mark ala bangle.
We just took some pictures, snap here, snap there! Some tourists actually walked up the fortress and explored the site. But laziness took over us, and the heat is overpowering our will to explore! haha.. I came from a tropical country, but the heat in Cartagena is much worse. And our guide actually told us that this time of the year is the 'colder' season.
But the view, it's unbelievable!
After which, we went to the market area with tons of souvenir items!
We were supposed to go to another place after the market but we opted to just go back to the ship. We're sweating and hungry.. Ha! Whiny bratty tourists! haha.. I bet our guide was thankful his work hours were cut short. Oh and by the way, I love our tour guide! Actually took a picture with us so he can show his kids what 'Daddy do for a living'.. really nice guy!

Next stop.. the Panama Canal

Deck Party (Cruise: Day 4)

Aruba night! Not literally though, this is just the night of our Aruba day. Huh? Whatever. Please don't mind me. It's 7 am already, and I haven't sleep yet. haha.. yup, sleep deprivation = none sense posts.

Anyway, to save on laundry, had on the same outfit from the day, just covered it up with a button down shirt, one I borrowed from my brother. (thank you brother)
Got on the deck and people were already dancing. The crew led the people to a choreograph dance moves. Cutie! At the scene.
Aside from the usual buffet, the party had a special buffet set up with yummy treats.
Strawberry with milk and white choco dip :)
Sweetness in the air! Couples dance to slow romantic tunes.
And yes, most of them are elderly couples clinging to each other as they sway to the beat.
So so so so sweet. Sweeter than the strawberries, promise!
And the sky was lit up by this bright full moon. Nice touch to a great night.
And here I am, about to sleep with the sun shining bright.
I'll just keep this moon in mind as I go to sleep tonight.
(I know it's morning already, just using tonight to make it sound poetic. haha)

Aruba (Cruise: Day 4)

Aruba was our first stop on our 10-day cruise. I was so eager to get out of the ship after 3 straight days on board! Of course, we did the very tourist-y van ride around the city (complete with our very own tour guide). We actually did that on our other stops as well! haha.. I love how each guide explains all about their place, history, culture and such; and they do it with such enthusiasm that they really seem to enjoy their job.

Just outside the port are a whole stretch of souvenir shops.
Eye candies.
Original artworks.
Nice architecture as well.
Sorry for the poor shot, took this on a moving van. But oh my the beaches there are really nice! Too bad our stop is just a short stint and we didn't get the chance to swim. Oh well..
I'm not sure who is responsible for this 'art', if it's the locals or the tourists.
All sides of this plant was covered with writing. Maybe this is Aruba's version of lover's bark carving? :)
Everyone's taking pictures!
View from the top.
Lighthouse. And last, and might as well be the least, me! haha
Pardon me but my stop over outfits are anything but inspiring.
It's hot hot hot, and I don't have much packed! So you'll see a lot of spag straps and shorts. FYI.
:)
